Messi not in list of nominees for 2022 Ballon d’Or award

The list of nominees for the 2022 Ballon d’Or has been announced and seven-time winner Lionel Messi has not been named on the 30-man shortlist for the 2022 award.

He did have what was perceived as a disappointing season with PSG, so its not really a surprise. He did play 34 games in total but notched only 11 goals although he did contribute a few assists as well
