A couple of contract extensions in North London

2 important contract extensions for the North London clubs.

Lets start at Arsenal

Emile Smith Rowe

In his first season where he has made a substantial games for Arsenal, where he managed two goals and four assists in 20 Premier League games, making 33 appearances across all competitions last season.

He was subject to a couple of bids from Aston Villa for around 25 million pounds, so its interesting that Arsenal turned these down and offered him a new contract. Maybe they have learnt from the sale of Emiliano Martínez.

He has been given the iconic No 10 shirt for the 2021/22 season.

This seems a positive deal for Arsenal – keeping a talented, young player who will get better with more games. Hopefully he will continue to get plenty of game time next season.

Mikel Arteta

As we all saw last season, Emile is an intelligent player with excellent ability. His sharpness on the turn and exceptional vision have already made him a key player for us. His attitude and willingness to learn have also been very impressive.

Heung-Min Son

Then we have Heung-Min Son for Tottenham

The South Korea captain has agreed terms until 2025, with his contribution last season and previous seasons this makes sense especially with the Harry Kane rumors that are flying around.

He is 29 and has scored a total of 107 goals in 280 appearances in all competitions since he signed from Bayer Leverkusen in August 2015 for a fee of £22 million. Which looks like one of the best value signings compared to some of Spurs recent business.

He has also contributed 37 goals in 91 appearances for South Korea.

Last season he formed a formidable partnership with Harry Kane and was named in the PFA Team of the Season even though Spurs finished in a disappointing 7th place.
