OK, the Community Shield has just taken place and if you are a follower of football you will have noticed that the hype and social media nonsense has already started.
Liverpool won 3-1, Nunez had a good game but Haaland not so much so, missing a very good chance. So what does that prove, in a glorified pre-season friendly Haaland had an off day. Not sure what else to take from it to be honest
Not forgetting that in 2 previous friendlies for Liverpool, Nunez scored 4 in the first one and then had a nightmare in the next one – what did that prove, nothing. He can take a chance but like all strikers has an off day.
Darwin Núñez was purchase from Benfica £64m with a variety of add-ons. Erling Haaland was purchased from Borrusia Dortmund for 52.2m
So financially, looks like Man City got a slightly better deal as that is actuallya bit of a steal when you look at otehr players values.
Now lets look at the players and the leagues where the players played
Darwin Núñez
Núñez played in the Portugues Primeira Liga, he had a slow first season only scoring 6 goals in 29 games but then hit 26 goals in 28 games last season.
Other than a season in the Sugunda division for Almeria where he scored 16 in 30 games that is pretty much it.

He has netted twice for Uruguay in 11 games
So there will be a hope that he was not a one season wonder at Benfica, playing for Liverpool he should get a hatful of chances to be honest. I’d expect he should score between 15 and 20 goals.
Erling Haaland
This is a staggering goal scoring record and yes you count Red Bull Salzburg as well
Red Bull Salzburg – 16 games scoring 17 goals
Borussia Dortmund – 67 games scoring 62 goals
His debut season for Dortmund was 41 games and 41 goals – those numbers are pretty amazing.

Now factor in 20 goals for Norway in 21 games
If he stays fit with the chances hat Man City can supply for a forward, he can easily score 30 goals.
It has to be said that Haaland played in a higher standard of league, Bundesliga versus Primeira Liga is not a contest really.
